Once in a while we all are surprised by the Beautiful. It can happen in a moment. There are some things in life that we are expectant of, yet when we experience beauty, it is like an unexpected surprise that is always welcomed into our being. I also notice that when I am watchful, I can see the Beautiful with greater frequency.
As the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley enters into a new season, I am hopeful and expectant. There are many opportunities for us to gather together and wait. Wait with anticipation for the Beautiful to show and inspire. We organize art exhibits, dramatic presentations and musical performances, all so that we can be entertained and moved.
As I take the helm of the ACCV, we celebrate our 40th year of engagement and service as the Voice of the Arts in the Conejo Valley and I am excited for the future.
I see beauty all around. I experience it in the stories of many who have been at this for much longer than I have. With this, I am encouraged to continue the call to inspire the students in our schools. I am excited to see the programs that our many member organizations are offering. The support for the arts in our community is the mission of ACCV and it is a huge task that affects so many.
We have been developing a brand new, robust website that will help continue our mission to be the Voice of the Arts. Soon, when you go to http://ConejoArts.org, you will find a dynamic, member driven events calendar that will list all of the events, programs, classes and calls for artists and auditions. This will be a single go-to website for all community arts events in the Conejo Valley and surrounding areas. If you or your organization is a current active (paid) member, you will be able to log in and post your upcoming offerings. A dynamic calendar will list all events for any day of the week. Each member group will have their own page on the site, listed by category. In time, we plan to offer ticket sales, advertising and video on the site. If you are interested in being on the website development committee, contact me and I would love to talk to you.
Along with the heritage and history of unique programs, relationships, and offerings from the ACCV, we are developing new ideas for education, inspiration and promotion of the arts in our community. Please continue to support and encourage the culture of the arts and new ideas. The Beautiful is near, it only takes a moment of recognition to see how we are touched by it.

Peace,
