Event: Westlake Village Symphony presents an orchestral concert of major symphonic music: Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, the Sibelius Violin Concerto featuring violinist Thompson Wang, and Henry Purcell’s Funeral Music for Queen Mary adapted and elaborated by former Los Angeles Philharmonic composer-in-residence Steven Stucky. This concert is free to attend, though reservations in advance are strongly encouraged.

The Westlake Village Symphony (WVS) is a community orchestra of professional and amateur musicians from Westlake Village and the surrounding Conejo Valley area.  WVS regularly performs concerts offered for free or at low cost to the community. Families are encouraged to attend with their children.

Thomson Wang, solo violin, studied violin with renowned pedagogue Sam Fischer at the Colburn School in Los Angeles and currently attends Glenbrook North High School in Chicago, Illinois. He has previously performed the Sibelius Violin Concerto with the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and the San Fernando Valley Symphony.
