Once upon a time in the rolling hills of the Conejo Valley, art began to bloom in the most unexpected places — on street corners, in parks, and even on the backs of bright, whimsical rabbits. These weren’t ordinary rabbits, but Conejo Cottontails — larger-than-life sculptures created by local artists through the Conejo Public Arts Program, each one celebrating creativity, community, and color.

The Arts Council of the Conejo Valley (ACCV) dreamed of an event that would bring these colorful Cottontails  and the people who love them to life. Thus was born the Conejo Cottontail 5K Color Run, a day where runners, walkers, and cyclists come together to move, laugh, and throw color in the air in celebration of the arts.

But this isn’t just a festival of color — it’s a fundraiser with heart. Proceeds from the Conejo Cottontail Color Run help the ACCV support its many community programs:

🎨 Hang with the Best Student Art Competition – showcasing young artists from 6th grade to 12th across the region.
🎭 The Richard & Elaine Williams Legacy Scholarship – empowering students in the visual and performing arts.
🎶 Music for All – helping fund musical instruments for CRPD music classes and ensuring every child can play.
🎵 Summer Concerts in the Park – bringing free live music to families all season long.
🖌️ Art Trek & Conejo Public Arts – nurturing creativity and continuing the legacy of the Conejo Cottontails.

The Conejo Cottontails 5K Color Run celebrates not only art but the spirit of community — a living canvas of color, joy, and togetherness.

So grab your bike, lace up your shoes, and Come Walk | Run | Ride | Hop to support the Public Arts in the Conejo Valley. Let's paint the town — one splash of color at a time! 🌈
